BobCAD-CAM v23 Released

FL, Dec 8, 2008 - Recently voted one of the top 3 CAD/CAM packages in the

world leader in CAD/CAM Software Solutions announced today the release of
the latest version of their highly acclaimed V23 CAD/CAM software suite.
V23 offers many new powerful features which enhance both usability and
functionality. From a usability perspective, the all-new graphical user
interface is not only easier to work with, but sets a new standard in
methods used by a CAM system to machine your parts. “The ultimate goal of
Version 23 is putting more control and machining power in your hands for
less money” said Chris Corbell, Development Executive.
As for functionality, some of the more notable new features include 4th
Axis milling operations, laser, plasma and water-jet posting as well as new
pocketing/profiling optimization controls. With over 15 major enhancements
to the CAD design capabilities, managing jobs from start to finish has never
been so easy.
CAM enhancements include the addition of Z-Level roughing and finishing,
previously available only in the pro versions, to the standard version. V23
also provides optimized drilling, tapping and counter boring capabilities
with pattern and sequence control. Users will benefit from decreased
programming time with the new user coordinate system, multiple work-offset
features and speed/feed controls, as well as decreased cycle times with the
new 3D Arc Fit features. “3D Arc Fit for the 3D toolpath greatly reduces the
length of the G-code program and enhances finishes on complex surfaces,”
explained Greg Myers, in BobCAD-CAM Technical Support.
Another major enhancement to the V23 Suite is the addition of V-Carving.
Featured in the BobART add-on, V-Carving offers powerful engraving and
carving options. Combined with the new X-Cornering toolpath operations,
BobART offers an incredibly clean chiseled finish to lettering.
As with previous versions, the V23 core system is built for modular
expansion, allowing users to customize their systems to their own needs.
Add-ons are available for Lathe, Wire EDM, and Art functionality.
