Artes Calculi Ships Robin Hood Solver v1.0 for Electrostatics

ZAGREB, Croatia, Jan 24, 2012 - Croatian start-up company Artes Calculi Ltd., a spin-off of the Ruder Boskovic Institute, has announced the release of Robin Hood Solver 1.0, a fast and accurate software package for electrostatic modeling and simulation.

Robin Hood Solver running a sample calculation included in the distribution. The values and parameters can be set via GUI or in an input file. The calculation is executed fast, thanks to a novel BEM method. Users can set the desired accuracy by themselves. The results can be shared with other tools using the simple and user-friendly output format.

The software is intended for engineers, researchers and educators who have a need for electrostatic modeling and simulations in their work. It can be used in research institutions or in a number of industries and interest areas, including nanotechnology, MEMS development, electrostatic painting, electrostatic printing or clamping, design of electron or ion optics systems, design of super capacitors and nano capacitors, electrostatic capacitance tomography, electrostatic spectroscopy and so on.

Thanks to the integrated graphics module users can quickly visualize results of their calculations. Graphics module makes Robin Hood Solver suitable for demonstrating electrostatic calculations to students.

Thanks to its visualization module, the software can also be used in classrooms, as an effective way of teaching students the basics of electrostatic simulations.

Robin Hood Solver uses novel BEM method called Robin Hood method, developed by the scientists at Rudjer Boskovic Institute in Zagreb, Croatia. The memory use in Robin Hood Solver grows linearly with the number of elements included in calculation while in most of the other tools available on the market, memory requirements grow exponentially. The practical advantage of this low-memory requirement is the fact that Robin Hood Solver, unlike many other tools, can execute even complex calculations while running on an affordable, off the shelf notebook computer.

“We are glad that we can offer the state of the art specialized software package to the worldwide market”, said Hrvoje Abraham, managing director at Artes Calculi Ltd. “Our Robin Hood Solver is already in use at such prestigious institutions such as MIT and Brown University and we are eager to introduce it to other users who can benefit from its speed of execution, calculation accuracy and advanced built-in analytical techniques.”

The demo of Robin Hood Solver 1.0 is available free of charge to all interested users and can be obtained by filling-out a simple form. For further information, click here. It retains complete functionality of the full version and is limited only by a number of elements (up to 3,000).

The full version is priced at the 3,000 USD for a commercial license and 1,500 USD for an academic license.

About Artes Calculi Ltd

Artes Calculi Ltd is a software engineering company. They have specialization in software solutions in CAE field, especially in electrostatic and electromagnetic analysis. Their premier product is the Robin Hood Solver, a top of the line solution for electrostatic analysis, which is faster than the competing solutions and uses far less memory. The Robin Hood Solver is based on an advanced, novel algorithm in BEM calculations, invented by Hrvoje Abraham, Hrvoje Stefancic and Predrag Lazic, from the Theoretical Physics Division of Ruder Boskovic Institute.

They also provides services in numerical analysis and modeling and develops custom solutions for industrial clients and academia. For more information, visit www.artcalc.com.
