REDONDO BEACH, CA, May 15, 2008 – With support for the latest releases from Autodesk for 3ds Max and Maya, the new release of ARTVPS’ ART Renderer also includes some useful new real time preview tools that take the guess work out of scene set up and help shave hours off production time.

The ART Renderer is developed to run on ART’s own dedicated rendering devices such as RayBox. With a fully integrated plug in to Autodesk’s 3dsmax, Maya, RayBox and the ART Renderer enables users to render complex scenes and large data sets with ease.

The new ‘infinity cove’ and ‘sphere’ options within the RP skylight feature allow you to alter the shape of the environment dome upon which your HDR is going to be mapped. As well as more accurate reflections from your environment map, this new feature provides a much simplified HDR workflow.

Optimizing your workflow further, the new real-time reflection feature enables users to view ART materials and HDR reflections in real time. With instant feedback on any changes, real-time environment shading removes the need for multiple test renders, therefore speeding up image production and delivering a more accurate final result.

Brian Tyler, Product Manager at ARTVPS, said: “ARTVPS recognize that with tighter deadlines today’s 3D artists need tools that enable them to deliver great images to their clients in record time. With this new release, we’ve included some exciting new preview tools that deliver real-time feedback and therefore significantly reduce the time is takes to set up and render a photorealistic final image.”

Supported customers can download updates for free at anytime by logging on to the ARTVPS website – www.artvps.com

Additional features of the AV6.5 software release include:

  • Speed: In addition to users of RayBox, RD6400 and PURE PCi-X users will also experience an increase in rendering speed.
  • Faster GI: There have been speed improvements made to global illumination
  • Vista: The ART Renderer now supports Microsoft Vista
  • Mac: RayBox monitor of Macintosh has been improved
