AMV STEELWORKS Joins Bentley Developer Network

GORIZIA, Italy, Jan 22, 2010 - AMV, one of the top Italian companies in the field of software solutions for structural engineering joined the Bentley Developer network with its newborn product AMV STEELWORKS 2010.

AMV STEELWORKS is a software solution for metallic carpentry hosted by the SolidWorks platform, conceived to streamline the workflow from general structural modeling, to detailing, fabrication, drawing, and BOM. AMV STEELWORKS increases productivity for the Engineering and Construction Industries by leveraging the parametric structural steel design on top of SolidWorks.

The Partnership with Bentley, the renowned global leader in the creation of software solutions for the AEC industry, is a further step in the direction of an easy and smooth interaction between mechanical and structural engineering, with the ambitious aim of reaching full interoperability with STAAD and the other Bentley products.

The interoperability pack is a straightforward gateway between the parametric SolidWorks environment and the Bentley AEC software and will be available to all AMV customers. As a result, a SteelWorks model can easily be managed as STAAD FEA model and vice versa, creating a high speed connection between the mechanical and the structural department.

AMV SW is not only aimed at enhancing productivity from a mere practical point of view, but it has also been conceived to allow companies to take better decisions at an earlier stage in the production process, thus guaranteeing better economic performances.

In practice, AMV SW allows design teams to save time, as each team member can work on the same model understanding fully how everything fits together in real time. As a result, designers will spend a lot less time creating the model, analyzing it and producing documentation with Bentley, AMV, and SolidWorks tools.

The main feature of all AMV products is user-friendliness, and AMV SW is no exception. Therefore, training time for both, Bentley and SolidWorks users will be very short and extremely competitive, thus constituting a further advantage for companies.

Designed for both, expert and non-expert users, the system has been conceived to suggest consistent options during the design process, helping beginners take the proper steps, while enhancing expert users creativity and widening their possibilities to apply their designing skills thanks to a flexible and easily manageable instrument.
