150+ Attend AUGI CAD Camp at Advanced Solutions, KY
LOUISVILLE,
KY, June 9, 2008 - Advanced Solutions, Inc., a full service Autodesk
Authorized Value Added Reseller, was the host sponsor for the 2008 AUGI CAD
Camp held at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington, KY on
Tuesday, May 6, 2008. The single day event focused on helping Autodesk
software users increase productivity, and advance their industry knowledge
by providing expert advice from top instructors.
“The training is always good, but the instructors this year took the
educational content to the next level,” said James Lucero, CAD Manager for
Sherman Carter Barnhart, Lexington, Kentucky, and a second time attendee of
the camp. “The instructors are immersed in the product and they are able to
give you much more value than a manual or other reading material.”
A stellar faculty led the slate of educational courses. The faculty
comprised of implementation certified experts (ICE) from Advanced Solutions
and numerous industry veterans, many of whom also teach at Autodesk
University.
“Everything is going 3D and I know that I must learn as much as possible
to keep my company educated,” said Lucero. He has three projects underway in
Revit 2008, the Autodesk architectural BIM tool his company installed last
year. “Sharon Fricke (ASI technical engineer) is a great asset to the
architecture track. She offered information and techniques we will be able
to implement immediately.”
Lucero said that the sessions allowed him to learn more about his current
version and how the next version is far and above what he is using now. “I
will consider upgrading to the new version after seeing what it is capable
of doing,” added Lucero.
Over 150 attendees from Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee spent a full day
exploring new technologies through professional training sessions, inspiring
lectures, and networking with peers.
Ed Deal, an AEC Engineering Technical Specialist for Autodesk, San
Rafael, California, spoke on sustainable design during the lunch sponsored
by Advanced Solutions, Inc. Deal reminded attendees that “sustainable design
not only impacts the environment, but also the bottom line.” He said, “We
must embrace technology that will educate our clients with controlled data
before the project is underway.”
“We are now able to see our designs before they are real,” said Deal.
“This is an opportunity to produce reliable information aggregation on the
most complex projects and make decisions that will meet the goals of our
clients.”
“Sponsoring Cad Camp is a way of adding value for users by providing ways
to increase system knowledge, build new skills and leverage our value-added
client services to improve their business,” said Chris Lavenson, Advanced
Solutions Vice President of Marketing.
Chris Lavenson, ended with “We intend to provide many great events this
year to benefit our clients. Some exciting product and industry events are
planned in every one of the 13 Advanced Solutions Authorized Training
Centers. The best place to get information on our upcoming events would
definitely be our website.”
