UAE's Al Attar Selects Tekla Structures for BIM
ESPOO,
Finland, August 2, 2007 - The Al Attar Group, a prominent U.A.E.-based
business and real estate development group, has chosen Tekla Structures
software as its Building Information Modeling (BIM) solution. The Group will
introduce Tekla Structures in all its business processes, including total
value engineering, conceptual design, design, detailing, manufacturing and
project management.
The contract with the Al Attar Group is one of the largest for Tekla's
Middle East office, and it consolidates Tekla's position as the leading BIM
solution provider for the construction industry in the Middle East. The
implementation project will last until spring 2008 and will consist of
consultancy, system integration services as well as the software and
training deliverables.
"Tekla Structures, as an open and advanced technology, allows Al Attar to
take full advantage of our integrated approach to projects. We can achieve
exactly what we as a business group, developer and contractor were looking
for. The use of Tekla Structures will decrease the project run-through time,
increase construction co-ordination and provide better design management.
The software will allow us to manage modeling, detailing and fabrication,
minimize overlapping tasks, improve collaboration, and enable advanced
planning and better use of our resources. In addition, we can now provide
up-to-date progress tracking and an accurate history of project changes,"
says Mana Al Attar, Chairman of the Al Attar Group.
"The benefits of this contract to Al Attar are significant. We will
increase our accuracy and efficiency and improve the overall project quality
with true visualization and real-time information at all stages of the
project. The long-term benefits will extend beyond the design and
construction phase to future operations - maintenance and facilities
management of the building - and will lead to substantial savings,"
continues Mana Al Attar.
"The Al Attar Group selected Tekla Structures after an extensive
evaluation because it provides complete control over the entire project
lifecycle. Global competition and new economic realities form an ever
changing market place in which we need to react to the demands of the
industry. Tekla is uniquely placed to offer the Tekla Structures BIM
solution to the market," says Tahir Sharif, Director of the Tekla Middle
East office.

Tekla Structures
Tekla Structures software is a building information modeling (BIM) tool
that streamlines the delivery process of design, detailing, manufacturing,
and construction organizations. While integrating openly with architectural
models, its strength lies in the contractor end of the process. Thousands of
Tekla Structures software users in more than 80 countries have successfully
delivered BIM-based projects across the world.
Tekla Structures' ability to process extensive amounts of data enables
the creation of detailed 3D models that apply to every stage of design and
construction. From planning and design development thru to fabrication and
installation, Tekla models naturally develop in parallel, representing the
"as-built" condition of a building. Tekla Structures effectively integrates
into any best-of-breed software driven workflow, while maintaining the
highest levels of data integrity and accuracy. Such collaborative workflows
are the cornerstone to minimizing errors and maximizing efficiency,
resulting in high profitability and on-time project completion. Tekla
Structures encompasses specialized configurations for structural engineers,
steel detailers and fabricators, precast concrete detailers and
manufacturers, as well as contractors. More information at
