Tekla Reforms Regional Organization
ESPOO,
Finland, January 9, 2007 - The Building & Construction business area of
Tekla Corporation, which produces the Tekla Structures modeling software for
the construction industry, is to increase the efficiency of its operations
by establishing a new Nordic regional organization. Nordic Area will be
responsible for sales, customer service and marketing in Finland, Sweden,
Norway and Denmark.
Tekla's subsidiary Tekla Software AB has operated in Sweden since 1996.
Tekla opened an office in Denmark in the autumn of 2006. In Norway, Tekla is
represented by a partner, Engineering Data Resources AS. The Nordic Area
organization will also be responsible for sales to Iceland and the Baltic
States. Operations in Finland will continue in their present form.
B&C's new Nordic organization will be led by Leif Granholm, Country
Director for Sweden. At the moment, Nordic Area has 12 employees, most of
whom work in sales and customer service. Customer contact persons will
remain unchanged and will continue to serve customers in their own language.
"One reason for the organizational reform is that we want to improve our
services to construction companies in the Nordic countries, the largest of
which operate in the entire Nordic area," Granholm says. The reform is
partly a response to the internationalization of the entire construction
industry and increasing cooperation between organizations.
"When we centralize services to customers in the Nordic area and use our
own resources more effectively we gain a clearer overall picture of our
clientele, and at the same time we can support their operations both inside
the company and in their cooperation with other companies," he explains.
Business growth in the area has been strong, and the new organization
will boost growth further. The structure and operations of the construction
industry are very similar in the Nordic countries and Baltic States; Finland
and Norway have traditionally been strong markets for Tekla.
"The new regional organization will allow us to serve our customers even
better than before," says Risto Räty, who is in charge of Tekla Building &
Construction. "We believe the reorganization will benefit our customers
because through our area offices and resellers we will bring best practice
to the entire markets in the Nordic countries and the Baltic States," he
adds.
About Tekla Structures
Tekla B&C's product Tekla Structures software is a building information
modeling (BIM) tool that streamlines the delivery process of design,
detailing, manufacture, and construction organizations. While integrating
openly with architectural models, its strength lies in the contractor end of
the process. Thousands of Tekla Structures software users in more than 80
countries have successfully delivered BIM-based projects across the world.
Tekla Structures' ability to process extensive amounts of data offers the
possibility to create detailed 3D models that apply to every stage of design
and construction. From planning and design development thru to fabrication
and installation, Tekla models naturally develop in parallel, representing
the "as-built" condition of a building. Tekla Structures effectively
integrates into any best-of-breed software driven workflow, while
maintaining the highest levels of data integrity and accuracy. Such
collaborative workflows are the cornerstone to minimizing errors and
maximizing efficiency, resulting in high profitability and on-time project
completion. Tekla Structures encompasses specialized configurations for
structural engineers, steel detailers and fabricators, precast concrete
detailers and manufacturers, as well as contractors.
