MP Engineering to Sell TactonWorks in Sweden
 STOCKHOLM,
Sweden, May 22, 2008 - Tacton Systems, global vendor of sales and product
configuration software, announced today that MP Engineering has signed a
reseller agreement for TactonWorks – whereby Tacton Configurator is embedded
in SolidWorks as an add-in product. TactonWorks supports manufacturers in
generating custom configured quotations for order processing. The agreement
covers sales in Sweden.
MP Engineering is the largest SolidWorks reseller in the Nordic region,
with close to 1,600 customers. MP Engineeering provides industry expertise
and solutions for the entire development process, providing leading edge
software within CAD, CAM, PDM and analysis. MP Engineering now extends their
portfolio by adding Knowledge Based Engineering Solution with TactonWorks.
TactonWorks targets manufacturers with a need for order-specific
customization of product design, e.g. engineer-to-order, assemble-to-order,
or configure-to-order, where rules can define what is a valid design for the
customer’s requirements. TactonWorks offers significant advantages in
interactivity, validation, and ease of maintenance over competing Knowledge
Based Engineering solutions for SolidWorks, in much the same way as 3D CAD
offers these advantages over 2D CAD.
