TEC Publishes DataCAD 12 Project Book
CONCORD,
NH,
Mar 18, 2008 - Technology Education Concepts, Inc. announced the release of
The DataCAD 12 Project Book. Written by Michael Smith and based on the
concepts of Dr. Leonard O. Nasman, The DataCAD 12 Project Book was created
specifically for the latest version of DataCAD 12. It introduces the
fundamental operations required for creating floor plans and 3D models using
new smart walls, doors, windows and rendering using the built-in object
viewer included with DataCAD. According to Michael Smith, “new for DataCAD
12 is the introduction of parametric modeling (often called ‘smart
objects’), including ‘smart’ walls, doors and windows. Part of this book
details how to use these new tools by modeling a real 2-story house,
complete with rendered materials.”
Although
the book is aimed at students in technology education, "tech prep,"
introductory level architectural CAD courses, and college architectural
design classes, it is also an excellent resource for architects and
designers just starting with CAD. The book is divided into a series of
drawing projects developed to help new users familiarize themselves with
three dimensional architectural design and drawing. Mark Madura, President
and CEO of DATACAD, emphasized that the new book would be beneficial for
those who wanted to get the most from DataCAD 12. Reflecting on the
publication, Mark continued by saying, “The addition of ‘smart objects’ is
perhaps one of the most significant features to be covered by the latest
edition. It certainly opens a new realm of possibilities.”
The DataCAD 12 Project Book is the latest in a series of Project Books
that have become popular in both academic and commercial markets.
