Striker Releases FAB Pro 2009 for Sheet Metal Nesting

HOUSE, TN, May 21, 2008 - Striker Systems is pleased to announce the
availability of FAB Professional 2009.
FAB Professional is the AutoCAD based version of Striker’s industry leading
sheet metal CAD/CAM and nesting software. FAB Professional 2009 provides
direct integration with AutoCAD 2009 and AutoCAD Mechanical 2009, as well as
integrated support for SolidWorks and Autodesk Inventor.
A primary focus of FAB Professional 2009 is a simplified user interface,
adopting the new “ribbon” style menu that has become the standard of the
newest Microsoft Office products. “Our goal is ease of use,” states Michael
Boggs, Striker Systems VP of Sales. “As a product becomes more capable, the
interface tends to become more complex. To overcome this, the redesigned
menu system for FAB Professional 2009 presents command options in a concise
visual format that allows users to intuitively know where commands are
located and reduces the steps to reach commands.”
Complementing the FAB Professional 2009 ribbon interface is a new Extended
Help system. As a command is selected, the command name and a brief command
description are immediately displayed. On many commands, pausing over the
command icon for a second expands the information displayed, detailing
command usage with additional text and diagrams. This instant feedback
reduces the learning curve for new FAB Professional users and assists
existing users when accessing seldom used commands.
