Synergis EDS Customer Writes Inventor Book
QUAKERTOWN,
Pennsylvania, April 24, 2007 - Synergis Engineering Design Solutions (EDS),
a division of Synergis Technologies, Inc., announced today that James P.
LoFaso, a mechanical design engineer and a long-time Synergis EDS customer
and former employee, authored a book for beginning Autodesk Inventor
software users entitled, Parametric Modeling Using Autodesk Inventor.
The book offers two unique features. First, it presents parametric
modeling concepts before introducing Autodesk Inventor 11 content to help
readers better understand the process for creating 3D models. Second, the
book discusses a project loosely based on a machine LoFaso worked on that
gives readers the opportunity to not only practice the software, but to
create a composite project and see it come to fruition in a single design
throughout the course of the book. To order Parametric Modeling Using
Autodesk Inventor by James P. LoFaso, contact the publisher, Goodheart/Wilcox,
at www.g-w.com/ordering or call
1-800-323-0440.
The goal of LoFaso’s book is to emphasize feature-based modeling with
Inventor as the tool used to illustrate parametric concepts. In each chapter
there is a discussion of parametric modeling, following a discussion
covering the basics of Inventor. With LoFaso’s ability to make the Inventor
discussions simple and easy to understand, readers will take away all of the
necessary skills to explore the software in greater detail.
“I am excited to be able to share my 3D mechanical design expertise with
new and existing design professionals,” said LoFaso. “Whenever I have taught
CAD classes, I have always included hands-on sessions. I tried to employ
this in the book because I find it one of the most valuable ways to learn
the software.”
“We are thrilled to celebrate Jim’s professional achievements. This book
marks a lifetime of professional success and we’ve been privy to witness his
growth for many, many years. Parametric Modeling Using Autodesk Inventor is
a strong resource for those who like a text to support their learning of
parametric modeling and Autodesk Inventor,” said Kristen Tomasic, vice
president, Synergis Engineering Design Solutions.
About the Author
LoFaso is a Mechanical Design Engineer who first started working with
Synergis EDS in the early 1990s when he became a CAD instructor and again in
1996 when he took a job with the reseller as a part-time trainer. Throughout
LoFaso’s career, working as a CAD Director for Northhamption Community
College, and in his other engineering positions at companies including
Matheston Trigas, Havis-Shields Equipment Corporation and his current
position at Amplifier Research, he has been very active in learning new CAD
programs and has relied on Synergis EDS to support his growth. The project
discussed in the book is loosely based on a machine LoFaso worked on at
Dayton T. Brown, Inc., a manufacturing company that also provides technical
services. LoFaso has authored numerous articles on solid modeling for Inside
AutoCAD magazine.
