Sescoi to Launch WorkXPlore 3D at Industrie Paris Expo

Sescoi has chosen Industrie Paris 2008 as the venue for the launch of WorkXPlore 3D. This new collaborative CAD interrogation and analysis software was developed specifically for mould, die and tool makers and mechanical engineers who manipulate large 3D files. It allows engineers to access CAD data from multiple sources, including Catia V5, Unigraphics, Pro/E, Parasolid, Acis, IGES, ISO Toolpaths, DWG and HPGL. By building a virtual prototype from CAD data from different sources, WorkXPlore 3D saves the expenditure and training required for multiple CAD systems. Tools within the software are able to easily handle and rapidly shade large 3D models simplifying mark-up and analysis, adding dimensions and sharing design information throughout the manufacturing and marketing chain.

WorkXPlore 3D, which is available in Collaborator and Manufacturing Pro versions, has been nominated for one of the Industrie show’s Productivity Excellence Awards. During Industrie, Sescoi will be giving away a free viewer version of WorkXPlore 3D which also includes full functionality for 30 days.

Sescoi will mark WorkNC’s 20 years’ anniversary at Industrie. From its formation, the company has pursued its vision of developing the most automated, easy to use & reliable CAM software on the market that gave birth to WorkNC in 1988.

The latest version, WorkNC G3, is the third generation of Sescoi’s original pioneering 3-axis CAM software. The system has evolved over the years to include full 2 to 5-axis CAM/CAD functionality and now counts all European, US and Japanese car makers and their suppliers as users, as well as big names from a range of other Industrie including Eurocopter, Playmobil, Samsung, and the International ARRK Group.

WorkNC G3 provides users with a single ergonomic interface that combines CAD manipulation, toolpath creation using WorkNC’s intelligent routines, powerful toolpath editing and cutter path simulation. New algorithms provide smooth toolpath transitions, advances in 5-axis machining with dedicated blade and impeller machining, and extra options for Sescoi’s Auto 5. The simplicity of transforming 3-axis toolpaths into 5-axis movements in Auto 5 brings 5-axis machining within the reach of every machine shop, saving time and improving quality through the use of short rigid cutters and by machining more of the part in one setting.

WorkPLAN Enterprise is Sescoi’s newly launched ERP system, which provides all functions necessary for custom manufacturers to automate and manage critical business processes, and comes with a number of smart ‘tools of the trade’ specific to companies or departments working on a project or job basis. These include the automatic capture of vital CAD/CAM data...

WorkPLAN Enterprise links to the WorkNC CAM system enabling the user to collect estimated machining times for a job. With the integrated CAD analyzer, the extraction and analysis of key CAD data in a range of formats is simple. Combine this information with the system’s ability to mine previous projects for comparable data using the system’s “characteristic technical criteria” and managers have all the information they need to produce accurate and speedy quotations.

Gantt charts keep track of project or job progress updated from real time shop floor data, highlighting discrepancies in cost and overruns in time. Throughout the project life-cycle all documentation, including modifications, notes, quotations and costs are stored within WorkPLAN Enterprise’s document management module. Users can retrieve information for after sales service, to meet traceability requirements and to rapidly communicate the most recent job developments to all those involved in the project. Managers can also create reports monitoring key business indicators in real time, optimizing profit and efficiency levels.

Visitors to Sescoi’s Industrie stand will also be able to see demonstrations of MyWorkPLAN V2 which is now fully scalable to the WorkPLAN Enterprise system. This easy to use job management system, which provides core functionality for project quoting, sales order tracking, and document management, now features an expanded range of optional manufacturing management modules that can be added over time to suit users’ evolving requirements. Users are therefore able to ease up to the full WorkPLAN Enterprise ERP system as their business grows without having to change systems.
