Roland Announces Image Contest
IRVINE,
CA, Oct 24, 2007 – Roland is proud to announce the Pure Print
Performance Challenge, inviting professionals planning to purchase a
wide format inkjet printer to put Roland’s award-winning line of
inkjet printers and printer/cutters to the test.

The Challenge is on now through Dec. 31, 2007 and covers all
Roland AdvancedJET, Hi-Fi JET Pro II, Hi-Fi Express, SOLJET and
VersaCAMM printers and printer/cutters. To participate,
professionals simply need to bring a JPEG, TIFF or Illustrator file,
at a maximum print size of 30” x 48” to any Roland Authorized
Reseller location throughout North and South America (except Brazil)
for test printing on a Roland inkjet.

“We are confident that customers will see the unmatched print
performance that has made Roland inkjets the world’s best-selling
line of wide-format durable graphics printers,” said Rick Scrimger,
vice president and general manager for Roland’s Color Products
Division. “We also understand that for most shops, the printer is
just the beginning. At Roland, we are committed to providing
complete solutions – everything needed to get great results from the
very first print through years of reliable service.”
Complete details on the Challenge are available from Roland
dealers and on the Roland Web site at

A Host of Advanced Features
Roland engineers understand that the ultimate quality of any
print is determined before a single drop of ink has been placed.
Accordingly, Roland inkjet printers and printer/cutters are designed
and crafted for performance, including high-speed print modes,
exceptional media feed and take-up systems and automated maintenance
systems that eliminate the need for daily manual cleanings while
keeping heads, caps and wipers performing optimally. The company’s
high standards for product quality and reliability allow Roland
printers and printer/cutters to continue performing for many years
into their lifespan.
Innovative Roland technology includes a Precision Firing Pattern,
which combines advanced variable droplet printing with
precisely-controlled media movement to deliver richly saturated 4 or
6-color prints with virtually no banding at razor-sharp resolutions
up to 1440 dpi. New media
guides, a redesigned pinch roller assembly, and adjustable head
height are just a few of the many new Roland enhancements.
Unlike other manufacturers, Roland’s commitment to print quality
extends well beyond the printer itself. Roland digital printing
solutions encompass a tightly integrated suite of products, with
every element – including the printer, inks, media and software –
working together in perfect harmony. Powerful VersaWorks RIP
software is easy to use and comes bundled with Roland inkjets.
Roland digital printing solutions are also supported by a
comprehensive line of ink and media options that have been tested,
profiled and certified for optimum performance with Roland products.
As a result, Roland prints consistently reflect outstanding image
quality, superior color accuracy and lasting durability.
To meet the needs of a diverse customer base, the Roland line
includes eco-solvent, solvent, aqueous and sublimation printers and
printer/cutters with models ranging from 30” to 104” in width. The
company’s flagship VersaCAMM and SOLJET printer/cutters feature
Roland’s renowned print/cut technology that facilitates a one-step
seamless production cycle for both the high-resolution printing and
contour cutting required to produce sophisticated sign graphics,
labels, decals and vehicle graphics. New Pure Print Performance
products, including the 74” AdvancedJET AJ-740 and the SOLJET PRO
III XJ series of wide-format printers, deliver unparalleled speed,
precision and performance for outstanding printed graphics.
Revolutionary Roland Inks
Over the years, Roland has pioneered many of the industry’s most
important advancements in ink technology including the introduction
of the first 6-color wide-format pigment inkjet printer and the
first true eco-solvent inkjet printer.
Each Roland ink is engineered specifically to produce exceptional
results on Roland printers. Throughout the development process,
Roland engineers conduct extensive testing to determine optimal
droplet size, optical density, firing pattern and other critical
performance factors. Roland inks are formulated to prevent corrosion
of all ink delivery components and to enhance the performance of the
print heads over time.
Roland VersaWorks RIP Software
VersaWorks RIP software is easy to use and offers advanced
features including a new Max Impact color management preset, the
Roland Color Matching System for spot color matching and variable
data printing for easy, custom prints with variable data. The Max
Impact preset produces deeper, more vivid blues and reds, the
fundamental colors for outdoor graphics, while preserving the
overall color balance required for beautiful, photorealistic images.
VersaWorks also includes more than 150 ICC profiles for reliable
results every time on the widest range of media solutions in the
industry. The Roland@NET automated update feature ensures ongoing
access to the latest VersaWorks version and profiles available.
Built on an Adobe Postscript engine, VersaWorks is compatible with
Windows XP Professional, 2000 and Windows Vista.
Two-Year Warranty
Roland’s latest printers are all backed by the company’s Two-Year
Trouble-Free Warranty covering two full years of parts and labor.
The Two-Year Trouble-Free Warranty is the industry’s longest and
most reliable bundled service and support contract.
For all products, Roland offers its Passport Customer Care
Program which includes extended warranties, on-site service,
Internet and telephone technical support, electronic newsletters,
online user forums and training through Roland University workshops.
