Roland Employees Volunteer for 'Habitat For Humanity'
IRVINE,
CA, Sep 14, 2007 – Employees of Irvine-based Roland DGA Corporation
recently teamed with Habitat for Humanity of Orange County to help
construct much needed affordable housing for local families.
The two-day company-sponsored volunteer project took place in
August at Habitat’s Fullerton, California job site, involving 28
employees from Roland’s accounting, information systems, marketing
and product management departments for both the Color Products and
Advanced Solutions Divisions.

“It is our pleasure to contribute to a worthwhile organization
such as Habitat for Humanity,” said Bob Curtis, Roland president and
CEO. “The experience brought our own organization closer together
while allowing us to reach out into the community and make a
difference in the lives of others. We look forward to our next
opportunity to work with Habitat for Humanity.”
During the project, Roland employees assisted with plumbing and
underground electrical installations, as well as various
preparations required to install dry wall and attach roof trusses.
Roland employees served along with the home owners who are required
to contribute 500 hours of “sweat equity” to receive a home.
Habitat for Humanity of Orange County
Habitat for Humanity of Orange County is dedicated to ending
substandard housing and building strong communities in Orange
County. Habitat uses non-government donations of funding, materials,
professional services and volunteer labor to build simple, decent
homes which are sold to qualified low-income families for a 1% down
payment, closing costs, and a zero-interest mortgage. Mortgage
payments are recycled to build more Habitat homes. Habitat families
contribute 500 hours of “sweat equity” to the program by building
their own home, helping another Habitat family build a home, or
working in some other area of the Habitat organization. Habitat for
Humanity families and volunteers have built 122 homes in Orange
County since 1988, and have begun construction on four homes in
Anaheim and two homes in Fullerton.
