IRVINE, CA, Feb 5, 2009 – Roland DGA Corporation today announced the Free Pure Print Performance Upgrade for new and existing customers of the company's VersaCAMM VP series printer/cutters and grand-format AdvancedJET AJ series printers.

Roland’s Free Pure Print Performance Upgrade is offered worldwide, benefiting thousands of Roland customers. The 30” VersaCAMM VP-300 and 54” VP-540 are among the best selling inkjets in the company’s history. The AdvancedJET series includes the 104” AJ-1000 and 74” AJ-740, grand-format printers designed for high-speed, volume production.

Roland Intelligent Pass Control Technology

With the Free Pure Print Performance Upgrade, both existing and new users of AdvancedJET and VersaCAMM VP inkjets can take advantage of Roland Intelligent Pass Control technology, the company’s patent-pending technology that virtually eliminates banding by optimizing masking patterns and dot placement at the edge of each pass. With Roland Intelligent Pass Control, consecutive passes are overlapped and feathered so they literally become one continuous image. As a result, finished prints reflect unmatched image quality overall with smoother gradations and dense, flawless solid colors in every print mode.

Roland Intelligent Pass Control also increases productivity by allowing users to achieve the same print quality at higher speeds. Upgraded VersaCAMM VP inkjets print up to 80 percent faster on banner and 50 percent faster on vinyl in Standard print mode while the AdvancedJET can print up to 25 percent faster on banner in Standard print mode.* Upgraded AdvancedJETs are further enhanced with the addition of new print head protection plates.

VP-540/VP-300 customers can download their free upgrade kit including Roland VersaWorks 3.1 at www.rolanddga.com/upgrade. AJ-1000/AJ-740 users will be contacted by a Roland Authorized Dealer regarding their free upgrade kit and installation of the protection plates.
