ASCENT Offers Inventor, Revit Architecture Training Guides
MISSISSAUGA,
ON, Dec 13, 2007 – RAND Worldwide, a global leader in providing
technology solutions to organizations with engineering design and
information technology requirements, today announced that its courseware
division, ASCENT - Center for Technical Knowledge, released two new training
guides for Autodesk software:
- Inventor 2008 Sheet Metal Design and
- Revit Architecture 2008 Advanced.
"We have a long standing history of successfully developing courses for
our Sheet Metal design clients that utilize CATIA V5 and Pro/ENGINEER
software," said Joe Oswald, Executive Vice President, PLM Operations, North
America and Europe, RAND Worldwide. "We have leveraged this experience and
applied the many strategies and lessons learned from developing course
content for these products to create our Inventor 2008 Sheet Metal Design
training guide."
The Inventor 2008 Sheet Metal Design training guide introduces users to
the concepts and techniques of sheet metal modeling that have been greatly
improved on with the release of Autodesk Inventor 2008. The course focuses
on features specific to the process of sheet metal part creation and
editing, flat pattern generation, and design drawing documentation. Specific
topics in the training guide include design processes, sheet metal styles
and parameters, and creating commonly used sheet metal features such as
flanges, hems, folds, and bends.
Revit Architecture 2008 Advanced builds on ASCENT's Revit Architecture
2008 Fundamentals (formerly Level 1) and Revit Architecture 2008
Intermediate (formerly Level 2) training guides released in June and August
this year. The new advanced training guide focuses on customizing and
expanding tools that Revit Architecture 2008 users work with on a daily
basis including the Project Browser, schedules, and elevations. Users are
exposed to data exchange options with other design packages for energy
analysis and massing studies and provides an in depth look at Work sets for
effective project collaboration and data sharing within the Revit family of
products. Advanced family processes for creating custom cornices and copings
as well as stairs and railings are also covered. Students will also learn
how to create and import site information into their models and add
structural components.
