ASCENT Ships 3 Training Guides and 2 UQ’s for AutoCAD 2008
MISSISSAUGA,
ON, Sep 20, 2007 – RAND A Technology Corporation, operating as RAND
Worldwide, a global leader in providing technology solutions to
organizations with engineering design and information technology
requirements, today announced that its courseware division, ASCENT – Center
for Technical Knowledge®, released three updated training guides and two
updated User Quizzes (“UQ’s”) for AutoCAD 2008 software:
Training Guides
- AutoCAD Architecture 2008 Advanced
- AutoCAD 2008 Plotting and Sheet Sets
- AutoCAD 2008 3D Drawing and Modeling
User Quizzes
- AutoCAD 2007/2008 Fundamentals
- AutoCAD 2007/2008 Advanced
“ASCENT is dedicated to providing AutoCAD users with advanced educational
programs and learning tools that help them maximize AutoCAD’s functionality
and in turn, achieve the highest skill levels,” said Joe Oswald, Executive
Vice President PLM operations, North America and Europe, RAND Worldwide.
“Since they realize enhanced productivity and better design creation with
ASCENT’s offerings for each new Autodesk application upgrade, our training
guides and User Quizzes are an essential tool for companies and educational
institutions worldwide.”
The AutoCAD Architecture 2008 Advanced (formerly Architectural
Desktop Level 2) training guide offers advanced feature training for users
who have completed ASCENT’s AutoCAD Architecture 2008 Fundamentals course,
such as architects, structural engineers and facilities managers. Students
learn to use AutoCAD Architecture 2008 to create development and
construction documentation and design massing and space studies. In
addition, the course provides students with greater application control by
teaching them how to customize their workspace. The course also covers
annotation object styles and AEC object style creation for walls, doors,
windows, and curtain walls.
The second title release, AutoCAD 2008 Plotting and Sheet Sets is
designed to help students better understand and master AutoCAD 2008’s
plotting concepts and sheet set techniques. The training guide covers layout
fundamentals, as well as more advanced and specialized features, such as
easily plotting all sheets in a set, automatically creating layouts for
plotted sheets using sheet sets, and coordinating sheets in a multi-drawing
environment.
AutoCAD 2008 3D Drawing and Modeling introduces users who are
proficient with AutoCAD’s 2D commands to the concepts and methods of 3D
modeling. The course is ideal for AutoCAD users who are moving from
traditional two-dimensional drawing to 3D modeling. The course provides
students with the information necessary to gain a thorough understanding of
3D fundamentals by covering topics such as creating solids and surfaces from
2D objects, editing and conversion tools for 3D elements, and using
visualization and rendering tools.
ASCENT’s updated AutoCAD 2007/2008 Fundamentals (formerly AutoCAD
Level 1) and AutoCAD 2007/2008 Advanced (formerly AutoCAD Level 2)
UQ’s identify software knowledge gaps and effectively map training
requirements to increase software proficiency and on the job productivity.
The AutoCAD 2007/2008 Fundamentals UQ measures user knowledge of the
concepts covered in ASCENT’s AutoCAD 2007 and 2008 Fundamentals courses,
while the AutoCAD 2007/2008 Advanced UQ measures user comprehension of the
topics covered in the AutoCAD 2007 and 2008 Advanced courses.
