ASCENT Updates 4 Autodesk 2009 Products Training Guides
MISSISSAUGA,
ON, July 8, 2008 – RAND Worldwide, a global leader in providing
technology solutions to organizations with engineering design and
information technology requirements, announced today that its courseware
division, ASCENT – Center for Technical Knowledge, released four updated
training guides to its curriculum line-up for Autodesk 2009 software:
- AutoCAD Electrical 2009 Fundamentals
- Civil 3D 2009 Fundamentals
- Inventor 2009 Advanced Assembly Modeling
- Revit Architecture 2009 Fundamentals
AutoCAD Electrical 2009 Fundamentals covers the core topics for
working with AutoCAD Electrical 2009. The training guide teaches users how
to create schematic and panel drawings, and PLC/IO circuits using automated
commands for symbol insertion, component tagging, wire numbering, and
drawing modification. New topics added to the training guide include AutoCAD
Electrical 2009’s enhanced Symbol Builder interface, which uses the AutoCAD
Block Editor to streamline the creation of AutoCAD Electrical Symbols and
the Circuit Builder, which allows users to dynamically create and customize
circuits, such as motor control circuits.
The Civil 3D 2009 Fundamentals training guide is designed for
Civil Engineers and Surveyors who are new to the Civil 3D 2009 software
environment. The guide introduces the application and teaches users the
tools to create standardized civil engineering, drafting, and GIS projects.
The training enables students to complete transportation, site, sewer, storm
drain, and subdivision projects quickly, while using the tools to
dynamically link and generate automatic design updates, which reduce costly
errors. A new optional training module has been added, which teaches users
how to share data between team members using data shortcuts or Vault. The
course contains six other comprehensive modules focusing on the application
interface; surfaces, alignments, profiles and production tools; assemblies,
corridors and sections; pipes and grading; and parcels.
The Inventor 2009 Advanced Assembly Modeling guide is the third
course in ASCENT’s recently released Inventor 2009 Introduction to Solid
Modeling and Inventor 2009 Advanced Part Modeling training guide series.
This course concentrates on the Top-Down Design approach for assembly
creation. The training guide covers the Inventor tools available for
Top-Down Design and other advanced assembly features aimed at increasing
design efficiency, including positional and level of detail representations,
iMates and iAssemblies, frame generator, design accelerator and file
management techniques. The course also provides an Inventor Studio overview
and teaches users how to render and animate realistic images, as well as
introduces users how to use the assembly bill of material functionality.
Revit Architecture 2009 Fundamentals teaches students how to
create full 3D architectural project models and set them up in working
drawings. The guide focuses on applying Building Information Management
(BIM) in Revit Architecture 2009 and the basic design development tools
users require to work effectively within the software. These include
creating basic floor plans, setting up levels and grids, making design
changes, and using specialty objects such as stairs, railings, ramps, and
curtain walls. The updated guide includes a new project model that reflects
a real world 3D architectural model.
“ASCENT continues its commitment to enhancing and changing its courseware
based on responses and suggestions from our clients,” said Joe Oswald,
Executive Vice-President, PLM Operations, North American and Europe, RAND
Worldwide. “Our Revit Architecture 2009 Fundamentals training guide is an
ideal example of this commitment. We invested more than a year updating the
training guide to reflect the real world terminology and projects our
clients were seeking from us and the training they require to better utilize
their Revit Architecture software.”
ASCENT is an Authorized Author, Publisher and Developer of the Autodesk
curriculum. All of the company’s Autodesk courses are available to
educational institutions, individuals, and corporations.
