ASCENT Releases 2 Training Guides for AutoCAD 2010

MISSISSAUGA, ON, Mar 25, 2009 – RAND Worldwide, a global leader in providing technology solutions to organizations with engineering design and information technology requirements, announced today that its courseware division, ASCENT – Center for Technical Knowledge, released two training guides for Autodesk 2010 Software:

  • AutoCAD 2010 Fundamentals
  • AutoCAD 2010 Update for AutoCAD 2009 Users

ASCENT’s AutoCAD 2010 Update for AutoCAD 2009 Users training guide introduces AutoCAD 2009 users to the application’s new enhancements including updates to the primary method of selecting command tools, the Ribbon, and the new Application Menu. The training guide also provides users with an in-depth focus on Annotation tool updates, the new Measure tools, publishing and reference file enhancements, and customization updates. The most exciting new feature covered in the courseware are the parametric tools that can be used on objects and within Dynamic Blocks.

The AutoCAD 2010 Fundamentals training guide provides new AutoCAD users with the skills required to successfully create 2D drawings. It helps users understand the workspace and interface, teaches them how to use basic drawing, editing, and viewing tools, and how to add text, hatching, and dimensions to a file. In addition, the training guide focuses on more advanced techniques to further refine user’s skill sets. Users learn advanced editing and construction techniques, how to create local and global blocks, and set up layers, and templates.

Being involved in the Autodesk Beta development has enabled ASCENT to release their AutoCAD 2010 Fundamentals and AutoCAD 2010 Update for AutoCAD 2009 Users training guides in conjunction with the release of the Autodesk 2010 software,” said Joe Oswald, Executive Vice-President, PLM Operations North America and Europe, RAND Worldwide. “Our courseware developers are dedicated to providing high-quality, professional training, allowing our clients to quickly benefit from their software enhancements.”

ASCENT is an Authorized Author, Publisher and Developer of Autodesk curriculum. All of the company’s Autodesk courses are available to educational institutions, individuals, and corporations.

ASCENT will be releasing a full range of titles updated for 2010 in the coming months. To see the company’s complete courseware lineup for Autodesk, Dassault Systèmes, and PTC software solutions, please visit www.ASCENTed.com
