PTC Appoints James Heppelmann to Board
 NEEDHAM,
MA, May 20, 2008 - PTC (Nasdaq: PMTC), The Product Development Company,
today announced the appointment of James Heppelmann to its Board of
Directors. In addition to this appointment, Mr. Heppelmann remains as PTC’s
executive vice president, software products and chief product officer. The
appointment of Mr. Heppelmann expands PTC’s board to seven members.
 In
his current management position, Mr. Heppelmann is responsible for PTC’s
overall product direction, development, and marketing. Mr. Heppelmann has
worked in the software industry since 1985 and has extensive experience
developing and deploying large-scale product development systems within the
manufacturing marketplace. Prior to joining PTC, Mr. Heppelmann was founder
and chief technical officer of Windchill Technology, a Minnesota-based
company acquired by PTC in 1998. Before founding Windchill Technology, Mr.
Heppelmann served as chief technical officer at Metaphase Technology, Inc.
Heppelmann brings a valuable combination of business strategy, market
knowledge, and software product development experience to PTC’s board. As
the driving force behind Windchill, now one of PTC’s most successful product
offerings, Mr. Heppelmann understands the challenges of creating, and
commercializing, enterprise software solutions. Mr. Heppelmann’s broad
industry knowledge enables him to provide critical input to PTC’s long term
business strategy.
