PTC Announces CoCreate Explicit Design Contest Winners
NEEDHAM,
MA, May 19, 2008 - PTC (Nasdaq: PMTC), The Product Development Company,
today announced the winners of its 2008 CoCreate explicit design competition
celebrating excellence in design. CoCreate, PTC’s explicit CAD, PDM &
collaboration software provides companies with a lightweight and flexible
approach to designing products. Contestants from one hundred eighteen
companies around the world participated in the competition, submitting more
than 170 entries.
Users were invited to submit a screenshot, rendered image, 3D model, 2D
drawing or animation of an original design in any of 20 different product
categories. Winners were selected in each of the following major categories
by more than 2500 voters who selected their favorite designs.

Liebherr Hausgerate Lienz GmbH was named as the winner for best overall
design, capturing the highest number of votes for its “ice cream display and
storage unit”. This visually appealing and innovative entry was also named
winning design in the Food Handling, Storage and Packaging category.
Additional categories new to this year’s competition included Student
designs, designs created with CoCreate Modeling PE and a miscellaneous
“other” category.
