PROSTEP Offers OpenDXM 6.1 for 64 bit OS, File Handling

Germany, Jan 8, 2008 - PROSTEP AG launched delivery of the new version of
their engineering data workflow solution: OpenDXM 6.1 – 64-bit and large
file handling. OpenDXM 6.1 now supports the performance capabilities offered
by 64-bit operating systems. The Darmstadt-based product data integration
specialists also focused their development efforts on offering both users
and administrators even greater ease of use. The following provides a
summary of the most important new features.
OpenDXM 6.1 offers users a newly designed and configurable job list
display with comprehensive filter and sort options, which makes it much
easier to find important job information. Improved performance speeds up job
creation significantly. In addition, an optimized user interface and
extended functionality in the Web Client has further improved ease of use.
The current version of the well-established data exchange tool also provides
new features for ENGDAT import preparation including a concept involving
roles and rights, which allows strategic control of import operations.
OpenDXM 6.1 offers administrators an enhanced and optimized Install Wizard
that makes update procedures more secure and easier to perform. The Admin
Client now includes new functions that provide administrators with support
for method updates and thus facilitate maintenance. The Central Event Server
and the Control Center offer new functionality that make operation and
monitoring even easier. And last but not least, functional enhancements in
the Archive Client allow for greater flexibility when performing searches or
generating statistics.
The basic OpenDXM 6.1 version includes both OpenDXM for UNIX and OpenDXM
for Windows. It also includes a CATIA V5 direct integration package that
offers an easy to use, end-to-end solution for CATIA V5 data exchange.
