Microdesk Offers Autodesk, Google AIA Pre-approved Classes
NASHUA,
NH, Mar 3, 2009 – To help architects earn the continuing education units (CEUs)
required to maintain membership in the American Institute of Architects,
Microdesk today announced that it is partnering with Autodesk and Google to
become the first architectural IT consultant in the US to deliver over 22
AIA pre-approved customized classes to meet AIA/CES requirements for 2009.
In addition to obtaining the necessary CEUs, architects will learn how to
maximize their capabilities and efficiency with applications including AutoCAD
Architecture, AutoCAD MEP, Autodesk Navisworks, Revit Architecture, Revit MEP,
Revit Structure, Google SketchUp and Google Earth Pro.
The American Institute of Architects (AIA) has announced that it now requires
its members to complete four hours per year of continuing education on
sustainable design as part of the eight hours of class work needed to earn the
continuing education units (CEU) for maintaining AIA membership. “Our
partnership with Autodesk’s ATC Passport Provider Program enables Microdesk to
provide AIA members with all the necessary learning units they need to maintain
their AIA membership, as well as optimize their use of the essential software
tools used by the architectural community,” said Microdesk Principal and Partner
Michael DeLacey. “AIA members can now choose from almost two dozen pre-approved,
customized classes from Microdesk such as Indoor Revit: Environmental Quality
with Revit, Turn Your Revit Template Into a Green Template, and Aqua Revit:
Integrating Water with Revit.” Microdesk also offers CEU credits on its Green
Series courses to aid architects in integrating sustainability into their
designs, and Digital Architect courses to help architects integrate new
technology and documentation processes into their design workflow.
