MINNEAPOLIS, MN, Oct 1, 2008 - Laser Design, Inc. and GKS Inspection Services, leading global providers of 3D laser scanning systems and services for more than 20 years, launched their new, improved website this week. The redesigned site provides updated product and services information, as well as current news and case studies.

"Fast accessibility to information with fewer links was one of our main goals in improving the website," said Armando Alonso, Vice President of Marketing. "The information contained in our old website had outgrown its structure; we needed a new interactive framework to organize all the additions to our products and services, and make them easy for our valued customers to find." For example, the newly expanded FAQ section sequentially walks the customer through questions about what 3D laser scanning is, how the process works, and the best applications for it, along with other pertinent information about data editing software and laser safety.

Updated content, including an extensive glossary, with technical details and plenty of graphic images provide website visitors with a more in-depth understanding of the scanning process and how Laser Design's systems and GKS's services dovetail to create a complete digitizing solution. Whether visitors are seeking information about laser scanning, dimensional inspection, rapid prototyping, or terrestrial scanning, they will be able to find the web pages they need quickly and easily.

Also featured are new on-line video demonstrations of products and services. If a visitor is unfamiliar with the theory and practice of laser scanning, these video clips are "worth a thousand words," said Alonso. See firsthand how 3D laser scanning works and the resulting ultra-accurate CAD models and inspection reports.

About Laser Design and GKS Inspection Services

Laser Design, Inc. and GKS Inspection Services have been leading suppliers of ultra-precise, 3D laser scanning systems and services worldwide for over 20 years. Used for capturing the 3D shape of objects with complex geometries and free-form surfaces, Laser Design's Surveyor line of automated and portable scanning systems are ideal for 3D scanning applications involving inspection and reverse engineering of complex shaped plastic and metal parts.

The company's patented laser line-probe technology dramatically reduces scanning time by collecting data substantially faster and more accurately than conventional metrology technologies. Laser Design integrates Geomagic software with its laser scanners to provide complete solutions for reverse engineering and inspection applications.

GKS Inspection Services, Laser Design's in-house service bureau division offers complete 3D scanning, reverse engineering, and dimensional inspection services. Headquartered in Minneapolis, the company also has Regional Technical Services and Support Centers in Seattle and Detroit, and distributors throughout Europe, Asia, and North America.
