Appoints Alan Faichney as COO
LEBANON,
NH, and EDINBURGH, Scotland, UK, Jan 17, 2008 - DEM Solutions, a global
leader in discrete element modeling software and services, has announced a
restructuring of its organization as part of an overall expansion designed
to better meet the needs and requirements of its growing client base.
Alan Faichney has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer based
at the company’s Edinburgh headquarters, effective Jan 1 2008. The
re-organization will enable Dr John Favier, CEO of DEM Solutions, to
focus more fully on client relations, strategy, and business
development.
Alan joins DEM Solutions from Ion, Inc where he most recently
served as Senior Vice President, Strategic Resources, a corporate
post with wide ranging responsibilities including long term strategy
and company-wide Research & Development.
Alan graduated from St. Andrews University (Scotland) with a
B.Sc. in Mathematics, and began his career in the Aerospace
industry. He later joined the Oil exploration industry where he held
key technical and strategic roles in product and market development,
resulting in recognition with the Queen’s Award for Export in 1998
and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) Cecil Green Award
for Enterprise in 2005. Inventor of several US and worldwide
hardware and software patents, Alan is highly experienced in
software development and provision of technical services to
industry. He has also worked extensively in industry bodies over the
past twenty years.
