BIRMINGHAM,
UK, Oct 24, 2008 - Delcam Japan will be working with more partners than at
any previous exhibition in Japan at the
JIMTOF exhibition to be
held at the Tokyo Big Sight from 28th October to 4th November. JIMTOF is the
biggest machine tool exhibition in Asia and so provides an important
opportunity for Delcam to reinforce its position as the world’s leading CAM
specialist. The company will be promoting its CAM and inspection software in
association with 30 partners, including many of the world’s leading
providers of machine tools, cutting tools and inspection equipment.

Over the last three years, Delcam has broadened its range of software,
both through the acquisition of other systems and through the introduction
of new programs. This increased range of products means that Delcam can
support a much wider range of equipment. The range of machining software now
includes PowerMILL for high-speed and five-axis machining, FeatureCAM for
feature-based programming, PartMaker for Swiss-type lathes and turn-mill
equipment, and ArtCAM for engraving and routing. Together, the Delcam
programs comprise the world’s most comprehensive range of CAM software from
a single suppler.
This broad coverage makes Delcam a more attractive partner for machine
tool companies that need efficient, high-quality programs to show their
equipment performing at its best. Delcam can provide larger suppliers with a
single source for all of their CAM programming needs. At the same time,
Delcam can also provide smaller companies with exactly the software they
need to get the best out of any specialist equipment, rather than having to
use a compromise solution from a more limited choice.
As well as increasing its range of programs, Delcam has also broadened
the variety of industries it supplies. Traditionally, the company was
associated primarily with the toolmaking area, especially mould and die
manufacture. However, it now provides specialist options for many more
manufacturers, including those in the aerospace, autosport, footwear, dental
and medical sectors. This diversification also makes the company a more
attractive partner for other equipment suppliers.
“Partnering with other companies provides us with the opportunity to
increase greatly our visibility at the exhibition,” explained Delcam
Business Development Manager Sandy Moffat. “Visitors can see our programs
working with the latest equipment so proving that our software performs as
well in the real world as it does on the computer.”
