Delcam Seeks More Developers at Birmingham HQ
 BIRMINGHAM,
UK, June 25, 2007 - Delcam is in the process of recruiting extra software
developers to help the company maintain its position as the world’s leading
specialist CAM supplier. In particular, it is seeking extra staff to work on
the company’s PowerMILL CAM system and PowerINSPECT inspection software at
its Birmingham headquarters.
Delcam needs more developers for its industry-leading PowerMILL CAM software
“We were very pleased to be ranked by CIMdata recently as both the
world’s leading specialist supplier of CAM software and services, and as the
leading provider to the mould and die industry,” commented Delcam’s CAM
Development Director, Steve Hobbs. “However, we know that we cannot afford
to be complacent about our leading position and recognise that we need more
developers if we are to continue to offer industry-leading products.”
The broader range of applications for the company’s PowerMILL CAM
software has also increased the demands on the development team. As well as
being the leader in the mould and die sector, Delcam is also moving up the
CIMdata rankings of suppliers to the aerospace and automotive industries.
“We have recently introduced dedicated functionality for the manufacture
of blisks and impellers, and for the machining of engine ports,” explained
Mr. Hobbs. “We are also looking at the development of other specialist
systems to help our customers to tackle the most demanding manufacturing
challenges.”
Extra developers are also needed for Delcam’s PowerINSPECT program, to
speed the addition of new functionality into the system and consolidate its
position as the world’s leading hardware-independent inspection software.
“PowerINSPECT achieved record sales during last year and we need to build on
that success,” said Mr. Hobbs. “In addition, our closer relationship with
Renishaw, following its recent investment in Delcam, will lead to increased
opportunities for our metrology software.”
“We would prefer graduates with some experience in programming for either
metrology systems or CADCAM,” added Hobbs. “However, we are also looking to
recruit and train new, high-level graduates that wish to join a successful
and expanding company.”
