Delcam Appoints Clive Martell as Operations Director
Also adds Steve Hobbs and Bart Simpson to board
 BIRMINGHAM,
UK, Apr 1, 2008 - Delcam has been given Clive Martell a new position on the
Board as Operations Director. At the same time,
Development Director Steve Hobbs and Commercial Director Bart Simpson have
been appointed as additional members of the Delcam Board. The other members
of the Board continue to be Chairman Peter Miles, Managing Director Hugh
Humphreys, Technical Director Ed Lambourne, and Company Secretary Kulwant
Singh, plus Non-Executive Director Geoffrey McFarland.
Commenting on the new appointments, Mr. Humphreys said, “Delcam has grown
rapidly over the last few years, by increasing the sales of our established
software and services, by acquiring new products and by developing software
for new applications. Today, we have more than 500 direct employees, divided
between our Birmingham headquarters and our subsidiaries in Europe, North
America and Asia, plus over 200 more staff in our European and Asian Joint
Ventures. We have close to 25,000 customers worldwide, in a huge range of
industries, from automotive and aerospace to footwear and jewellery. I
believe that this expansion of Delcam's Management Team will enable us to
better manage all the opportunities that we have and so give the best
possibility for our rapid growth to continue.”
 As
Operations Director, Mr. Martell will be responsible for the day-to-day
tasks of managing the commercial operations of the company. The existing
geographic split of responsibility for sales will be maintained, with Glenn
McMinn continuing as President of Delcam North America managing operations
in the United States and Canada, and Tim Mitchell continuing as Asian
Business Development Director. Chris Edwards has been appointed European
Business Development Director in addition to his post as UK Sales Director.
In the new position of Commercial Director, Mr. Simpson will continue to
be responsible for Marketing and International Technical Support. In
addition, he will take on the sales and market development activity for the
more specialist areas of the Delcam product range, including the
PowerINSPECT inspection software, the Crispin products for the footwear
industry, the PartMaker CAM systems for turn-mill equipment and Swiss-type
lathes, and the new range of software for the dental industry.
Mr. Hobbs appointment to the Board recognizes his success in leading the
development of Delcam’s machining software. He will be responsible for the
future development of the PowerMILL, FeatureCAM and PartMaker software
families, the widest range of machining software of any CAM company. This
broad offering has helped establish the company as the world’s leading
specialist supplier of CAM software and services in the CIMdata rankings.
Mr. Hobbs will also continue his responsibilities for the development of
ArtCAM and PowerINSPECT, and for the specialist services provided by the
Professional Services Group and the Bespoke Software Development Group.
