Delcam Partner TCT to Launch PartMaker CAM in Mexico
 BIRMINGHAM,
UK, March 6, 2007 - Delcam’s Sales Partner in Mexico, TCT, will launch the
PartMaker CAM range in the Mexico at two major manufacturing exhibitions in
the country this month. The first show is the TECMA event that takes place
in Mexico City from 6th to 9th March; the second Expo Manufactura to be held
in Monterrey from 13th to 15th. The events in Mexico are the first stage in
a program to introduce the software across Latin America.
Delcam’s PartMaker CAM system is the world leader for programming Turn-Mill
equipment and Swiss-type lathes
TCT will also demonstrate the latest versions of Delcam’s three other CAM
product ranges, PowerMILL, FeatureCAM and ArtCAM. Together, the complete set
of programs comprises the world’s most comprehensive collection of CAM
systems, giving an unrivalled ability to provide solutions to all of a
company’s programming needs.
PartMaker is the world’s leading software for the programming of
multi-axis lathes with live tooling and CNC Swiss-type lathes. It is a
knowledge-based CAM system, allowing it to provide substantial gains in
programming efficiency by remembering the tools, material and process
information necessary to machine individual part features. PartMaker thus
relieves the user from the need to re-enter the same feature information for
subsequent parts. It also improves productivity by placing the emphasis on
tool management functions, including allowing the simultaneous use of
multiple tools on suitable equipment.
PartMaker pioneered a Visual Programming Approach for programming
multi-axis lathes with live tooling, a system for which the company holds
two U.S. patents. It makes extensive use of pictures to help the user
describe tools, part features and machining data, and so is easy to learn
and quick to use. For example, synchronization of tools working on multiple
spindles is achieved with only a few mouse clicks.
The latest release, Version 8, features a wide range of improved
functionality, including the introduction of the PartMaker Full Machine
Simulation module. This allows the user to view a photo-realistic 3D model
of the machine for which they are programming a part. It provides an
accurate simulation of all the programmed strategies and so gives additional
confidence that the program will run successfully on the machine tool.
