Delcam Nominated for MIA 'Service to Industry' Award
 BIRMINGHAM,
UK, Jan 4, 2008 - CADCAM developer Delcam is pleased to announce that the
company has been nominated for the Motorsports Industry Association “Service
to the Industry” Award sponsored by Performance Racing Industry. The Award
will be presented during the MIA Awards Dinner at
Autosport International on 10th January, 2008, immediately after the
first day of the Autosport Engineering exhibition at the NEC, Birmingham.
The other nominated organizations are Silverstone Circuit, Race Retro Show
and THB Clowes, specialist providers of insurance services to the industry.
Zytek Engineering implemented Delcam’s PowerMILL CAM
to achieve LMP category at 2007 Le Mans 24-hour race
Delcam is best known in racing circles through the use of its
PowerINSPECT inspection software by NASCAR and the FIA, and through its
contribution to the development of the original engine for the A1 Grand Prix
series by Zytek Engineering. Delcam software was also used by Coventry-based
company, Visioneering, to produce the majority of the components, apart from
the powertrain, in the record-breaking JCB Dieselmax car.
Other Delcam customers in the auto sport industry include Wegner
Motorsports, manufacturer of engines for nearly all the NASCAR divisions,
Centro Ricerche Cagiva, the research centre for the Cagiva, Augusta and
Husqvarna motorcycle brands, Crosby Composites and ATR Group, both pioneers
of the use of carbon fiber-reinforced plastics in autosport, and Brembo,
supplier of braking systems to most prestigious car and motorbike
manufacturing companies.
