Autodesk Unveils 2012 Design Product Suite

Inc. (NASDAQ:ADSK) unveiled its 2012 portfolio of 3D design, engineering and
entertainment software and an expanded family of design suites. The new suites
will make it easier for customers across a wide range of industries to adopt and
use a broader set of Autodesk’s comprehensive and sophisticated design software.
The suites will be available in convenient packages with a range of capabilities
that bring together compatible sets of complementary products for entertainment,
building, infrastructure, product and visual design that, when used together,
help to manage data, workflow and process.

The Autodesk family of design and creation
suites offer greater access to powerful
industry-specific design tools in a convenient
package and are more cost-effective and easier
to install, deploy, and manage than individual
products. Suites also make it easier to
standardize on a single suite across multiple
departments, which provides greater flexibility
to innovate and more easily respond to changing
business requirements. In addition, Suites can
make it easier for customers to explore new
products and technologies, and provide a
consistent user experience, making it easier to
learn and work with multiple Autodesk tools. The

Autodesk Design
Suite 2012 combines the power and
flexibility of AutoCAD software with
intuitive sketching, conceptual design,
presentation, and visualization solutions so
architects and product designers can create
compelling designs, seamlessly share data
across all design phases and make visual
communication an integral part of the design
process. The foundation of the Autodesk
Design Suite is AutoCAD 2012 software, which
has been updated with new and expanded
workflows for conceptual design, model
documentation and reality capture.

extends the Autodesk 3ds Max or Autodesk
Maya workflow with intuitive tools for
sculpting and texture painting, real-time
character animation and effects. 3ds Max
2012 delivers a new accelerated graphics
core, mRigids for dynamic rigid-body
simulations in the viewport and sculpting
and painting enhancements. Maya 2012
provides enhancements to the viewport
offering full-screen effects, editable
motion trails for animation editing in the
viewport and new simulation options.
