ASCON Announces KOMPAS-3D Modeling Contest Winners

PETERSBURG, Russia, June 9, 2008 - ASCON hold an awarding ceremony of
winners of the sixth KOMPAS-3D Modeling Contest in Radisson SAS
Slavyanskaya. This year the Contest established a new record – 41 project
from 54 industrial enterprises, which work in powerful Mechanical CAD
solution KOMPAS-3D.
Range of projects from different industry branches were
submitted for taking part in the contest, including machinery, automotive,
oil, gas, shipbuilding, aerospace and defense, architecture, electronics and
many others. Most of event participants are longstanding clients of
KOMPAS-3D. Quite a number of industrial enterprises have just recently
started to work with the system but they already obtained impressive
results. Many projects at KOMPAS-3D Modeling Contest 2008 exceeds 10000
parts in the assembly.
Contest's judging criteria required from participants effective and
professional usage of 3D Parametric Modeling and 2D drafting
software: parameterization of sketches with control dimensions, trimmings in
assemblies, active use of all possibilities of KOMPAS-3D: bending, stamping,
massifs, microelements etc. All projects contain complex parts and
sub-assemblies, units worked out with high quality. Here we present the
winners of KOMPAS-3D contest:
I Place:
Project: Cargo diesel locomotive 2TE70,
Enterprise: Kolomensky Zavod
II Place
Project: Turbogenerator type TA-6-2MU2,
Enterprise: Plant Electrotiazhmsh SE, Kharkov
III Place
Project: The complex of the equipment for
manufacturing polymer-bitumen ribbons LIM7,
Enterprise: ZAO Prominsulation, Nizhny Novgorod
The absolute winner of the Contest was awarded by powerful graphic
station ARBYTE equipped with video card NVIDIA Quadro FX by PNY
Technologies and 3D navigation device by 3Dconnexion, Logitech company.
This year according to wishes of last year's competition participants for
the first time in the history of Contest projects were divided into four
categories: up to 200 parts, from 200 up to 1000 parts, from 1000 to 5000
and from 5000 parts.
