3am Releases Dynamite VSP v4.0 for 3ds Max Design

FAREHAM, UK, Jul 2, 2009 - 3am Solutions announces the latest major release of their civil engineering visualization solution for Autodesk 3ds Max Design, Dynamite VSP Version 4.0 – which has the potential to revolutionize the role of design visualization throughout the civil design process.

The use of visualization in the civil engineering industry is starting to grow significantly as project stakeholders need ever more compelling ways of understanding the impact of their proposals on the environment and the local community, and engineering consultants seek new ways to differentiate their businesses from their rivals. Being able to create accurate images and animations has always been challenging - particularly when dealing with the complexities of major civil engineering projects. Perhaps most importantly, there is always the danger - inherent in civil engineering - of how to deal with regular design changes when visualizations are increasingly required as a fundamental part of the design process.

Dynamite VSP from 3am Solutions deals specifically with these problems by providing a dedicated toolset designed specifically to turn complex 3D design data into accurate rendered images and animations quickly and easily. The software sits inside Autodesk 3ds Max Design, but uses a customized civil oriented user interface. Crucially, as the project evolves, the visualization can react to changes in the design, literally saving days of work to reproduce the visualization model.

Dynamite VSP supports most leading 3D civil engineering applications including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley MX Road, Bentley InRoads and Geopak, and 12D Model.

Primary areas of focus in this new release include full 64-bit support for Autodesk 3ds Max and Autodesk 3ds Max Design 2010, a range of performance and user interface improvements, support for AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 point groups, and a new render-time sight distance analysis tool.

• Re-designed Dynamite VSP Civil Explorer, provides direct access to DVSP style library which allows predefined styles to be applied to multiple parent shapes instantly.

• New render-time Sight Distance Analysis tool. Prints sight distance and other information to rendered frames and/or an analysis output file.
• Most data import panels now use a new unified user interface design.
• New re-designed Object Placement Style Editor.
• New US Metric and Imperial Country Resource Kits.

• Dynamite VSP Explorer now known as Dynamite VSP Civil Explorer.
• New "Resources" tab provides direct access to Resource Kit styles. Styles may be instantly applied to multiple selected shapes without opening associated Style Editor panels.
• New "Tools" tab provides direct access to new Sight Distance Tool and Dynamite VSP Bonus Tools.
• Recently released bonus tools now included with standard Dynamite VSP installation.
• New "Point Systems" object category provides easy access to basic Particle System functionality in Autodesk 3ds Max Design.

MX Model File Data Import Panel

• Re-designed user interface, including new filtering/selection options.
• Supports import from multiple MX models in a single panel session.

GENIO File Data Import Panel

• Re-designed user interface, including new filtering/selection options.

12D Ascii File Data Import Panel

• Re-designed user interface, including new filtering/selection options.

Civil 3D Data Import Panel

• Supports AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009, AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010, AutoCAD Civil 2009, and AutoCAD Civil 2010.
• Support for Civil 3D Point Groups containing up to 250 points. (AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 only)

Licensing Improvements

• New DynLM 2.0 Licensing System.
• Instantly switch between network licensing and standalone licensing mode without re-installing Dynamite VSP. Allows users to request short term standalone licenses from 3am Solutions when required to work from remote locations.
• Licenses no longer incorrectly revoked when running long processes in Dynamite VSP and/or Autodesk 3ds Max.

Other Solved Issues

• Full support for XREF functionality in Autodesk 3ds Max and 3ds Max Design. There is no longer any restrictions on the use of Dynamite VSP placed objects or other content in XREFs.
• Improved performance in Placed Object Manager panel when working with large datasets.
• Improved performance in Imported Object Manager panel when working with large datasets.
• Fixed a range of scaling issues in Dynamite VSP parametric objects when working with Imperial System Units in Autodesk 3ds Max and 3ds Max Design.
• Improved support generally for working with Imperial System Units in Autodesk 3ds Max and 3ds Max Design.
• Added support for localised (non-English) versions of Autodesk 3ds Max 2010 and 3ds Max Design 2010.
• New user interface icons introduced.

Availability

Dynamite VSP Version 4.0 is available immediately to all existing users currently holding valid annual software maintenance contracts for Dynamite VSP.
