3D Systems Launches 3DMe Photobooth at EuroMold

3dsystemlogoROCK HILL, SC, Nov 24, 2014 – 3D Systems today announced the commercial availability of its 3DMe Photobooth to bring the 3DMe experience to the retail and event floor space. With its new compact size, the 3DMe Photobooth uses 3D scanning technology for instant, full-color photorealistic 3D face capture. Like taking a picture, a 3DMe scan is instantaneous and can then be used to personalize over 200 customizable 3DMe figurines using the 3D portrait on the photobooth screen. The resulting data model, which takes just 15 seconds to generate, can be ordered from the 3DMe Photobooth app for printing and fulfillment through 3DS’ consumer ecommerce andphotobooth-web cloud platform, Cubify.

Perfect for retail spaces and events, the 3DMe Photobooth has an intuitive, self-guided consumer experience and a footprint of only 2’ x 2’. It is simple to install, and when connected to 3DS’ Cubify ecommerce and cloud printing fulfillment service, there is no POS integration required.

“The 3DMe Photobooth will mainstream the 3D scanning and cloud printing experience, creating buzz and attracting crowds by bringing it right to the retail floor or event venue,” said Peter Theran, Vice President of Consumer Retail, 3DS. “Retailers can deliver 3D innovation to their customers in a fun, interactive environment with a very small footprint, and its ease-of-use and cloud-based order and fulfillment makes it simple to install and monetize the investment.”

The 3DMe Photobooth will be showcased at EuroMold 2014 in Frankfurt, Germany from November 25-28, 2014, at the Messe Frankfurt in booths D69 and F90 in hall 11. It will be available for shipping in the U.S. and Europe on December 1, 2014. Watch a video to learn more about the 3DMe Photobooth here.
