3D Printing Portal 3D-button.com Surpasses 1000+ Users

3d_buttonBERLIN, Germany, Aug 3, 2015 – 3D printing portal 3Dbutton.com has already convinced thousands of users around the world, just within a few weeks since its launch in March at CeBIT. Since then the Berlin-based operator 3YOURMIND GmbH counts more than 10,000 quotes per week with a strong upward trend. The portal is used especially in the USA, Germany, Poland, Russia and Britain.

“The enormous potential of 3D printingtechnology can only be accessed by professionals using a combination of 3D data creation and 3D printing services. The main difficulty is the preparation of data for the manufacturing process,” says Stephan Kühr, managing director of 3YOURMIND GmbH which has specialized in IT solutions for 3D printing companies. To build a machine’s prototype or an architectural model with professional 3D printers, perfect 3D data is needed. At the moment this requires many additional hours of modeling work.

Data correction and print optimization with one click

3YOURMIND GmbH recently launched the 3D printing portal 3Dbutton.com. This portal enables professional printing of 3D data directly from CAD programs. Free plugins for popular CAD programs are available on the portal. Users, such as engineers or architects, can extend their software for automatic data correction and printing preparation. After the data is optimized for 3D printing, the file can be uploaded with one mouse click on 3Dbutton.com. Via the portal, the user is able to scale the model, choose the preferred material and get a real-time quote of the different printing services and prices.

The portfolio will be extended continuously

Currently the user can choose between printing materials such as plastics, aluminum, resin, steel, plaster, ceramics or gold. The files are then printed in one of the partner printing services in Germany, the United States, France or Belgium. Additional printing materials and printingservices from around the world will be integrated into the portal during the next weeks. Furthermore, the selection of plugins for other CAD programs will be expanded. Currently, the CAD programs Sketchup, AutoCAD, 3DS Max, Rhinoceros, Inventor and Blender are being supported.
