BIA - The Building Industry Authority
- is the organization responsible for the building law in New Zealand, here
you will find information about building controls in general and about BIA
activities and services; these functions are funded by a levy on building
consents: to administer and review the New Zealand Building Code; to produce
Approved Documents that specify detailed methods of complying with the New
Zealand Building Code; to provide information and advice on building
controls to all sectors of the building industry and public.
BRANZ - The Building Research
Association of New Zealand - is owned and governed by the New
Zealand building and construction industry, BRANZ expertise also plays a key
role in the provision of information for the development of New Zealand's
building controls (Codes and Standards), also helps in presenting the
New Zealand industry's perspective in the development of harmonized
Standards between Australia and New Zealand; work includes researching
performance criteria, developing design, testing and evaluation methods and
publishing construction solutions.
