Appropriately enough, there was a bike museum on the
way to Batavia, NY (pedalinghistory.com).
Several vintage bikes were on display along with t-shirts, post cards and other
gifts. A guided tour was available but I was on a roll and didn't wait around.
Another wet morning left most of me dripping. I've
gotten quite used to getting wet although it does bother me to be covered with
road grime. Sometimes, its an oily film that is hard to wipe off. Today, because
of all the rivers that overflowed their banks (a flood warning was in effect for
the last couple of days) a thin film of mud along with some leaves and grass
developed on my bike and legs. Later, when the sun dried everything, I could
dust off my legs to apply sunscreen.
It was a mercifully short day with only 86 miles today
and I got the hotel at 2PM. Today, I went over 3,000 miles for the trip.
