Day 9 - The Desert Turns Green

What sane person would find a 102 degree, 109 mile desert ride agreeable? Even the desert took on a more verdant shade. I made good time today, getting in around 1:15PM. A shower and a nap seemed to change my outlook for the positive. Not only that, but I reached an important milestone: the 1,000 mile mark. Yipee! Celebration took place at dinner where I almost finished an entire medium pizza. It's amazing how much you can eat during a trip like this.
