Still in California and still hot. Temperature reached 113 degrees today.
However, it still wasn't as bad as yesterday as there was a lot less climbing. I
cooled off quickly afterwards with a dip in the hotel pool.

Box Canyon. General George C. Patton trained his troops here. It is said he lost
more troops here in the heat than he did in the Sahara in World War II.
Less miles to do today, too, only 120. Tomorrow forecast calls for more of the
same.

Not that I could, anyway.
