WAY, London, UK, Jan 20, 2009 - PTC, the Product Development Company, in
partnership with Scalextric are launching the first UK Scalextric4schools
challenge. Schools will be able to register teams of students to compete
head-to-head with other schools; each team will then need to design, build
and race their car against other school teams.
This inaugural Scalextric4Schools challenge will consist of 9 regional
heats, culminating in a national final. The overall winner will be selected
based on their race position, the quality of their Scalextric slot-car and
their portfolio, which will document the design and manufacturing process.
The aim of the Scalextric4schools design/make/race challenge is to
inspire students to consider Science and Engineering related subjects for
Higher Education and as a future career.
WHO: Motoring Expert - James May, current World Slot Car
Champion - James Cleave, Marketing Manager Scalextric – Paul Chandler
and Mike Brown, Education Program Manager for PTC will all be available
for interview.
