Lockheed Martin Adopts Lattice XVL Products
SAN
FRANCISCO, CA, Sep 11, 2008 - Lattice Technology, developers of digital
manufacturing applications using the XVLR format today announced that
Lockheed Martin has adopted XVL into its new Visual Product Model (VisPM)
initiative.
Lattice Technology provides easy-to-use software for the creation and
management of usable, intelligent 3D content throughout the manufacturing
enterprise. The unmatched compression of Lattice Technology's XVL format
allows even the largest and most complex assemblies to be used quickly and
easily throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. Lattice Technology's digital
manufacturing applications directly use XVL data for manufacturers to
perform Design Review, Digital Assembly, Manufacturing Process Instructions
and Simulation, Technical Illustration, Customer Service, Marketing, Sales,
Quality Control, Product Development and Supply Chain instructions.
Lockheed Martin sought out Lattice Technology's XVL solutions in order to
provide a lightweight, robust 3D platform for integration with its VisPM
initiative.
"As part of our efforts in this initiative, we had a mission to locate
technology that will enable the seamless sharing of 3D data in an easily
viewable format," said Marc O'Brien, Lockheed Martin. "With a growing
portfolio of 3D data, accessibility to that data has become a priority.
Lattice's lightweight solutions make these valuable assets available
throughout the entire organization."
Bill Barnes, General Manager, Lattice Technology said, "We provide
manufacturers with total ease-of-use for 3D data. The biggest challenge with
sharing and using 3D data is that the wide range of proprietary CAD formats
can be overwhelming. Lattice Technology's XVL format brings that data
accurately into a single, easily managed, lightweight format, and that data
can then be applied in many different ways - viewing, animations, in
spreadsheets, on the web, in Office documents and more - via our XVL
applications."
About Lattice Technology Inc.
Founded in 1997 with headquarters in Tokyo, Japan and San Francisco, USA,
Lattice Technology provides global companies with proven digital
manufacturing solutions for 2D/3D design data across the manufacturing
enterprise. With Lattice Technology's XVL applications, engineers and
manufacturers can perform design review, simulate assembly processes,
automate creation of 3D parts lists / BOM's and create animations with even
the largest 3D assemblies. Lattice's standards based XVLR (eXtensible
Virtual world description Language) technology provides secure, highly
accurate and compressed 3D files that can be used, shared and easily
supported by partners, suppliers, and internal departments in a lightweight
browser-based solution. XVLR is unmatched in performance, compression and
accuracy.
