AVEVA Seeks Contest Nominations
CAMBRIDGE,
England, July 23, 2007 - Across the globe, if you see a big project – a
complicated project – a project that calls for ‘extreme engineering’ and
problem-solving – chances, are, an AVEVA customer and AVEVA’s technology
played some part in bringing that project to life.
To recognize these customers and their achievements, AVEVA is hosting its
second annual “Engineering Excellence to the Extreme” contest. Winners and
their projects will be profiled at AVEVA Americas’ International Symposium
for Engineering IT (ISEIT) 2007 (www.iseit.com),
which is being held October 21 through 23 in San Antonio, Texas.
Previous award winners have included Arauco, for designing and
engineering the US $1 billion Itata, Chile wood pulp and sawmill; Petrobras,
for completing a 3D model of its Reduc refinery distillation unit in Brazil
in just 40 hours; SBM Imodco for designing the largest internal turret
mooring floating production system ever built; and Tri Ocean Engineering for
designing and engineering the Niglintgak surface facility in arctic
conditions with minimal environmental impact.
In order to qualify for an Engineering Excellence award, AVEVA technology
must have been used on some part of the project. Companies should also
demonstrate what makes this project an example of extraordinary engineering
challenges overcome – whether it be scope, environmental, safety, risk,
completion time, or other factors.

The deadline for submissions is September 30, 2007.
About AVEVA’s International Symposium for Engineering IT (ISEIT) 2007
ISEIT is an executive-level 2-day symposium that examines the business
and technical challenges of building and maintaining engineering assets. The
theme of this year’s ISEIT conferences is “Continual Progression”, examining
the interdependence of information technology and real-world engineering
with a thought-provoking program focused on industry-specific trends, best
practices, and strategies that provide a competitive management advantage in
today's dynamic marketplace. The theme also underscores AVEVA’s commitment
to helping engineering firms and owner/operators achieve global working with
less risk, shorter lead times and improved business efficiency, by offering
intelligent technology solutions that evolve to meet customer needs, without
disrupting work processes.
