Alibre Translate Available for CAD Files Import/Export

RICHARDSON, TX, Mar 25, 2009 - Alibre, Inc. today launched Alibre Translate, a new product which adds an extensive set of import and export filters to the popular Alibre Design product line.

Alibre Translate, the powerful new add-on that gives unprecedented access to the most widely used native CAD formats on the market. It's directly integrated with Alibre Design, making the importing and exporting of files a quick and efficient process.

Alibre Translate allows those that use SolidWorks, Inventor, Pro/E, Solid Edge, Catia V5 and Parasolid files to seamlessly work with upstream and downstream partners. Alibre Translate also allows those with extensive amounts of current and legacy data to easily migrate to Alibre Design.

Alibre Design is the most affordable 3D parametric CAD program on the market and typically costs less than 1/5 of a seat of SolidWorks, Inventor, Solid Edge, or Pro Engineer. Alibre Design already includes support for most industry standard file formats including STEP, IGES, DXF, DWG, SAT, Rhino 3DM, STL, and various image formats.

Alibre Translate is built on the Alibre Design 11.2 platform and is now available to all customers for download and installation. https://www.alibre.com/support/downloads.aspx.

Alibre Translate has a suggested retail price of $499. Alibre Design Version 11.2 is available to all Alibre Design customers on active maintenance.

Alibre Translate Import Options

Alibre Translate is a separate add-on which allows you to extend your import capability to include native files from nearly all popular CAD applications:

• AutoDesk Inventor: v10 to 2009 (*.ipt, *.iam)
• Pro/E: 2000 to Wildfire 4 (*.prt, *.xpr, *.asm, *.xas)
• SolidEdge: v10 to v20 (*.par, *.psm, *.asm)
• Catia: v5 from R10 to R18 (*.CATPart, *.pCATProduct)
• Parasolid: v18 (*.x_t, *.x_b, *.xmt_txt, *.xmt_bin)

Alibre Translate Export Options

Alibre Translate is a separate add-on which allows you to extend your export capability to include:

• SolidWorks: 2004 (*.sldprt, *.aldasm)
• Parasolid: v18 (*.x_t, *.x_b, *.xmt_txt, *.xmt_bin)
