ACUSIM AcuSolve Supports Windows HPC Server 2008
MOUNTAIN
VIEW, CA, Sep 23, 2008 - ACUSIM Software, Inc., a provider of leading
computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solutions for engineers and scientists,
today announced that AcuSolve, the company's flagship solver, now supports
Microsoft Windows HPC Server 2008, a server operating system designed for
the high-performance computing (HPC) market. This announcement gives
mainstream computer-aided engineering (CAE) users access to a scalable,
accurate, and performance-driven CFD solution in the familiar Windows HPC
environment. ACUSIM will debut AcuSolve on Windows HPC Server 2008 at the
ACUSIM Energy Day for Offshore Oil Platform and Wind Turbine Simulation,
taking place Nov. 6, 2008 at Microsoft Building in Houston.
"Performance, stability, ease of deployment and maintainability are very
important to HPC customers," said Vince Mendillo, director of HPC at
Microsoft. "We are working closely with ACUSIM to give our customers the
major benefits of AcuSolve on the Windows HPC Server 2008 platform."
A general-purpose, finite element-based CFD solver, AcuSolve integrates
seamlessly with CAE design and analysis applications to excel at solving
complex multidisciplinary design problems involving coupled fluid flow and
structural phenomena. The addition of Windows HPC Server 2008 support
presents a powerful and scalable solution to Windows-based CAE users from
desktops to workgroups.
"Our customers need a solution that will solve the most challenging CFD
problems quickly and accurately," said Farzin Shakib, CEO of ACUSIM. "We
designed AcuSolve to resolve these issues efficiently as they can directly
impact productivity and the overall product design. Now, our customers have
the right tools to combat these mission critical problems in the familiar
look and feel of a Windows desktop environment."
Windows HPC Server 2008 combines the power of the Windows Server 2008
with rich, out-of-the-box functionality to help improve the productivity and
reduce the complexity of the HPC environment. Testing shows that with
AcuSolve running on Windows HPC cluster, CAE users are able to obtain great
scalability and performance while offering a familiar path for users to
apply more computing power as needed.
AcuSolve is also available on Windows XP, Windows Vista, UNIX and Linux
desktop computers, as well as the traditional UNIX or Linux-based HPC
clusters and Symmetric Multiprocessing (SMP) systems.
