Dassault, Creaform Sign VAR Agreement for Europe
 PARIS,
France, Oct 1, 2008 - Dassault Systems (Nasdaq: DASTY; Euronext Paris:
#13065, DSY.PA), a world leader in 3D and product lifecycle management (PLM)
solutions, today announced a new reseller agreement with Creaform Inc. for a
wide distribution of the total 3D scanning Solution.Aerospace,
automotive, and medical engineers and multimedia professionals from any
location in Europe will be able to acquire directly from Creaform the
complete solution, including equipment as well as software, to
reverse-engineer, inspect and optimize their products, also benefiting from
Creaform’s support and unique domain expertise.
“With this partnership, Creaform integrates the community of Dassault
Systems resellers for PLM with a specific value proposal in reverse
engineering,” said Laurent Couillard, vice president of PLM sales for North
Europe, Dassault Systems. “Indeed it complements the existing channel by
providing end-to-end best of class 3D Scanning solutions everywhere and
contributes to expand our position in the SMB market.”
After the US and Canada agreement, the extension to Europe makes the
total solution now available from everywhere, for every SMB customer.
Creaform develops Handyscan’s VxScan, a CAA-based software enabling a
real time import of cloud of points scanned by the Handyscan into the
standard CATIA data model for 3D scanned data, bridging the virtual and real
worlds.
“After signing the CAA agreement with Dassault Systems in 2007 and
becoming an Education Partner earlier this year, this reseller agreement
illustrates the confidence both companies have in reaching new European
customers with valuable technology while accelerating their return on
