Altair, MIMOS to Develop Grid Computing Technology Portals

Michigan & TORINO, Italy, March 20, 2007 - Altair Engineering a leading
global provider of technology and services that strengthen client innovation
and decision making has recently entered into a technological collaboration
with MIMOS Berhad for the development and implementation of Grid computing
technology portals.

technologies to enhance customer value and creation of globally competitive
indigenous technologies in its effort to become the premier applied research

The tie-up between Altair Engineering and MIMOS is expected to result in
the joint development of Grid enabled solutions on various application areas
such as Computer Aided Mechanical Engineering; rendering of 3D animation and
visual effects graphics; life science research and transfer of knowledge and
expertise to MIMOS researchers.
Grid computing technology is expected to provide the Malaysian high tech
research community with a low risk and highly effective High Performance
Computing (HPC) environment to accelerate local research and discoveries.
The research driven Grid portal, scheduled to be operational in early 2007,
will be open to local research organizations, institutions of higher
learning and selected businesses.
