3D Systems CEO Named Ambassador for Economic Development

honors Abe Reichental at the Governor’s Mansion

Reichental, president and CEO of 3D Systems, was honored today for his
contributions in promoting economic growth in the county and state by South
Carolina Governor Mark Sanford.
Reichental was named York County’s Economic Development Ambassador of the
Year by the South Carolina Department of Commerce, an honor awarded to
private sector executives who are exceptional contributors to community and
state development. Today’s recognition at the Governor’s Mansion in
Columbia, S.C., kicks off South Carolina Industry Appreciation Week.

Carolina and momentum is building with the arrival of leading global
companies like 3D Systems,” Governor Sanford said. “We’re glad to have this

The honor for Reichental comes nearly a year after 3D Systems
consolidated its headquarters, operations and research and development
activities into a new, state-of-the-art, global facility in Rock Hill, S.C.
Since deciding to move, Reichental has assisted York County economic
development officials in recruitment efforts with other companies, including
meeting with prospects to share positive information about York County and
South Carolina. Reichental also accepted a position as a member of the Rock
Hill Economic Development Corp.
