01consulting Publishes PLM France 2007 Market Report

France, July 2, 2007 - 01consulting studies the French PLM market, under a
new report released today.
PLM tools are studied in 4 categories:
- PDM (Collaborative tools and Product Data Management) is growing
fast,
- MCAE (Simulation, analysis and engineering tools) is the other fast
growing segment,
- CAM (Manufacturing tools) now growing slowly,
- MCAD (Mechanical Design tools): The oldest and the biggest segment,
is now almost flat.
For this edition, the MCAD market is studied under 3 sub-segments:
o High End
o Mid Range (see the chart below)
o Low End
The relatively high growth of the mid range is compensated by the decline
of the high end segment.

- Autodesk is rising in the general ranking France now above PTC and
UGS.
- After leading the CAD/CAM segment, Dassault Systèmes is now leading
the cPDM segment in France thanks to last year’s acquisition of
MatrixOne. But the company is ranked only 4th in the MCAE market,
despite efforts including the acquisition of Abaqus.
- Missler software has a remarkable performance: 2nd in the CAM
segment and 2nd in the mid range CAD segment ahead of Autodesk and
SolidWorks.
